Stabbing suspect nabbed by police

An early morning arrest was made Wednes­day in Port Isabel as an officer followed a blood trail that led to an arrest from a stabbing of a Port Isabel teen. According to police reports on March 30, at approxi­mately 3:01 a.m., Officer Ray Brandriff was on patrol in the vicinity of Old Stadium St, in Port Isabel when he observed a male subject running into the rear entrance of apt. 517 on Gonzalez Street. Officer Brandriff found this suspicious and proceeded to investigate. Upon investigat­ing he found a trail of blood leading to the rear door. Brandriff then discovered that a 17-year-old male iden­tified as Eric Gomez, of Port Isabel, had stab wounds on both hands.
