Healthy eating and an active lifestyle were promoted as the Summer Feeding Program kicked-off Saturday.
The event served as the start of an 11-week program that provides free meals to students in the Point Isabel Independent School District. Free water and fruit cups were served.
The program is part of a state-wide initiative to help feed millions of low-income Texas children during the summer break.
