Leaders look at street concerns

Laguna Vista officials Tuesday worked to improve two specific problems in the Palo Blanco and Broadway streets area.

Council members adopted on its first reading, an ordi­nance regulating maximum speed limits for vehicles trav­eling on local roadways dur­ing times of heavy rains and other hazardous road condi­tions.

The ordinance would serve as a measure for local police officials to issue citations to vehicle operators speeding through flooded streets and causing water to enter and damage homes in affected areas.
