CDC meeting tonight

With a newly appointed pres­ident, Laguna Vista’s Commu­nity Development Corporation is scheduled to meet tonight to take up plans for the develop­ment of a community compre­hensive plan.

A reorganization of the board recently was implemented by the City Council. John Kar­carnes was named to serve as president of the CDC by the Town on June 14. He previous­ly served as vice chairman of the board. A new appointee will also be seated, as per Council action. And, Roxanne Gunzel was named to step up to the vice-president’s slot, following Karcanes advancement.

Also, Ian Monroe, a loan of­ficer in the Laguna Madre area was unanimously voted-in by the Town Council to fill the unexpired term of Ken Irwin, former Town alderman.
