The Rotary Club of Port Isabel celebrated its 75 anniversary on Friday, June 24, and commemorated the event alongside fellow citizens and city officials at Beulah Lee Park.
A commemorative memorial plaque and flag have been permanently implanted into the scenery of the Maxan Street park for the city to see and remember the years of service the Rotary Club has performed in its 75 years.
“Seventy-five years of service to this community; 75 years of friendship, caring and giving; 75 years of making a difference in this our South Texas corner of the world,” Club President Bettina Tolin said. “Words cannot express how we feel about the significance of this day. Many Rotarians have come before us over the many years with devotion to this community and they have left an immeasurable imprint.”
