On Monday, July 4, a black taxi van was allegedly hijacked by three men in Port Isabel.

The taxi driver, Gabriel Hernandez said he had picked up the three suspects at Doubleday Sports Bar and Grill.

“The passengers asked the driver to drive to the 500 block of South Shore, once there the front passenger produced a knife and placed the knife up against the taxi driver’s neck and demanded money. The taxi driver reached for the sun visor where he keeps his money and turned it over to the assailants,” said PIPD.
