On July 15, The Friends of the Isabel Y. Garcia Animal Shelter will host a fundraiser at Boomerang Bill’s from 7-10 p.m.
The event is free to the public. At the event, there will be a raffle for prizes, a howl at the moon contest, music and animals will be available for adoption.
All of the money raised will go toward the spaying and neutering of the animals that are currently being adopted.
“Animals don’t leave the shelter until they are altered, so it’s important we raise as much money as we can. The Friends work to help the shelter get the animals into good homes, and in the last 75 days have assisted the shelter to get over 200 animal adopted, said shelter spokesperson Jacky Conrad. “I thought it would take a force of nature to clean out the shelter, but all it took was the hard work of wonderful people.”
Friends of the Isabel Y. Garcia Animal Shelter will also hold an adoption on Sunday, July 17 at Psychadeli on South Padre Island. Meanwhile, the shelter is conducting free adoptions through July 31.
