The Peewee Tarpons football team joined the Texas Youth Football Association (TYFA), opening new doors for the youth of the Laguna Madre area.
Previously, the peewee Tarpons played with the San Benito Boys’ and Girls’ club league for 13 years before joining TYFA this year.
“We decided to join this league because it’s more like high school football. It prepares the kids better,” said Raul Loera, a peewee football coach of 11 years. “They called us. They heard about us and asked if we wanted to join them. We built up a very good reputation in football.”
