Events scheduled for the Town of Laguna Vista now through December are as follows:
• Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.: Parks and Recreation regular meeting. The architect for the project is preparing the construction plans for the jogging/walking trail that will be built at the town-owned 15 acres located on the west side of Palm Boulevard. The town is expected to advertise for construction bids in October and are hoping to commence construction in November.
• Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.: Town Council meeting to adopt second reading of the ordinance adopting tax rate. Upon approval, the town’s $1.1 million general fund budget for the coming fiscal year is expected to be finalized. The ordinance includes maintaining the current tax rate of $.2932.
• Oct. 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.: National Night Out at Roloff Park. The public is invited to gather to meet and greet their neighbors while learning more about how to protect their property and prevent crime.
