World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-off slated Nov. 6

shrimp cook-off logoGates open at 10 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 for the 18th Annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off.

Located in Las Palmas Shopping Center in front of Bealls Department Store on Highway 100, this culinary tradition is expected to be even bigger and better.

Dozens of professional and amateur will expertly prepare over one ton of fresh wild caught Gulf shrimp in a wide variety of ways from boiled to coconut to cocktails to fried and scampi. While munching on tasty shrimp, attendees can shop for jewelry, collectibles, art and more from the vendors set up on the grounds. There will be a mini-carnival for the kids, balloon animals, face painting and games.

Another World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off tradition, The Agency, pictured here, will be performing all day under the big tent.
