Special to the Parade
Students at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) will, for the 20th year, will perform at the annual Posada and Pastorela on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 6-9 p.m. at the Science Engineering and Technology Building (SETB) Lecture Hall and Courtyard.
Led by a group of actors representing Mary and Joseph searching for lodging before the birth of Jesus, the procession will begin at the SETB Lecture Hall and will make several stops along the paseo before returning to the SETB Lecture Hall.
The procession will include mariachis, singing and dancing.
Following the posada and pastorela, the traditional Mexican holiday celebration will include games such as “loteria,” mariachi music and traditional foods. Admission is free and there will be free hot chocolate while supplies last. Also, there will be a free photo booth with Santa for children. Student organizations will be on hand with various food and concession booths during the event.

Posada (Peregrinacion) – 6 p.m. in front of SETB Lecture Hall
Pastorela – 6:30 p.m. SETB Lecture Hall
Posada Party – 7 p.m. at SETB Courtyard

7 p.m. – Raul Guerra Early Childhood Center
7:15 p.m. – Ballet Folklórico Tizatlan
7:30 p.m. – Estudiantina Azul y Fuego
The events are hosted by the Office of Student Life, Campus Activities Board, and Catholic Campus Ministries.
