The British Petroleum (BP) oil spill might not have directly washed up on the shores of South Padre Island, but the spill did take some tourism down with it during 2010.
“We did get economically impacted by the gulf oil spill,” Mayor Pro Tem Jo Ann Evans said about the past economic slump felt within the City of South Padre Island.
As the oil washed up on the shores of gulf coast cities, it also brought negative affects aside from environmental harm.
