“Here and There: Recollections of Texas in World War II (An Oral History Workshop)” was held Thursday evening at Paragraphs Book Store on South Padre Island.

As history buffs waited in anticipation for tips on how to record a thorough oral history, William McWhorter of the Texas Historical Commission said, “This is a grant-funded workshop which allows us to go out, and provide free training to preservation groups around the state, so that they can learn how, not only to record oral history of this times, but also how to transcribe, and preserve them; so they can make their local history a beautiful part of oral history.”
