A Blue Ribbon Resilient Communities Forum was held at the Pearl South Padre on Thursday, March 8 at South Padre Island.

Local leaders, County Commissioners, policy-makers, and initiative leaders where in attendance to discuss “the future and sustainability of our coastal region, in light of issues like rising sea levels, stronger storms, and disasters,” according to John Hill, Initiative Spokesperson for America’s WETLAND.

The forum gave participants the opportunity to voice their concerns, and viewpoints on such disasters, and obstacles that impact this region as well as observe substantive data regarding the vulnerability of the gulf coast.
