PI-SP baseballThe Port Isabel Tarpons baseball team took a short break from district play on Monday, as they took on Brownsville St. Joseph’s at Tarpon Field and got the win, 4-2.

On the mound for P.I. was Jose Garza and he went the distance (7 innings) for the win. He gave up three hits, one earned run, five walks, and struck out five.

“The wind bothered him,” head Tarpon coach Robert Holland told the Press on Tuesday. “It was coming from behind him and he had trouble with his curve ball. He relied on his fast ball and he’s got a good change-up.”
