Special to the PRESS

Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is urging all Texans to take advantage of “their right to access the public beach” on Saturday, September 22 for the 26th Annual Texas General Land Office Fall Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup.

The cleanup will take place at 29 sites along the Texas coast from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Locally, Friends of Isla Blanca is spearheading a clean-up effort. Registration will take place at Isla Blanca Park at the Lerma Pavilion.

Other registration points will be at Andy Bowie Park, Access #2; #3 between Palm St. and Corral; and the Surfrider Foundation South Texas Chapter will be leading the charge at Dolphin Cove (Isla Blanca Park).
