Wyeth String Quartet opens new El Paseo season

Special to the PRESS

Great music performed by great artists is a joy for the listener, and audience members will experience that joy when El Paseo Arts Foundation hosts The Wyeth String Quartet on Monday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. inside the SPI Convention Center.

The Wyeth String Quartet members are the principal string performers of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and have been praised by critics as virtuosos who thrill audiences with a moving performance. A Julliard graduate, Michael Shih, violin, is concertmaster. As a prize winner in the New York Naumberg International Violin Competition, he was granted a Carnegie Hall debut. He has appeared on National Public Radio’s “Performance Today” and NBC’s “Today” show.

Former SMU orchestra concert master Adriana De Costa is principal second violinist. Originally from Argentina, she has performed in important festivals such as Manchester Summer Festival, Meadowmount Festival and the Basically Beethoven Festival.
