Tony Yzaguirre, Jr., Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector reported that approximately 207,002 tax statements for tax year 2012 were mailed out on October 1 for personal property and real estate accounts.

Cameron County collects taxes for a total of 38 taxing jurisdictions with a total 2012 levy of $264,709,387.56.

Included in the consolidation statement for the first time are the Point Isabel Independent School District, City of Port Isabel, City of South Padre Island, Town of Laguna Vista and the Laguna Madre Water District. “This will be the first year taxpayers from the Laguna Madre area will receive a single consolidated statement,” said Yzaguirre.

“Taxpayers can pay their taxes online at www.cameroncountytax.org or at any of the offices countywide including the Port Isabel Branch Tax Office located at 505 Highway 100, Port Isabel, Texas,” added Yzaguirre.
