The Point Isabel Independent School District issued iPads to all 120 seniors enrolled at Port Isabel High School on Monday.
Superintendent Lisa Garcia said the district has made moves to integrate technology into the curriculum at the district campuses. She said last year the schools invested in the infrastructure necessary to have the devices connected to a network at one time.
“The technology is only good if it works,” Garcia said.
Students will now have the capacity to carry all their textbooks and other learning materials for school on the tablet, Garcia said it is a way to adapt to students and their learning habits.
