The City of South Padre Island will conduct two public hearings at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, concerning the involuntary annexation in the area of land adjacent to the county on the south side of the Island as well as extending city limits to the beach.

Mayor Robert Pinkerton said the property being annexed will help clearly define the city limits with county property.

“It is like a jigsaw puzzle, we want to be clear on what is city and what is county,” Pinkerton said.
