The Towns of Bayview and Laguna Vista hosted a bi-partisan candidates’ forum Monday at the South Padre Island Golf Club.
Candidates for the offices of U.S. Congressman District 34, Cameron County Sheriff, Cameron County District Attorney and Cameron County Commissioner Precinct 3 were invited to answer questions submitted by citizens.
Republican candidate for County Commissioner Precinct 3 Manuel Abrego said Cameron County should be run more like a business. He said the county needs to find new revenue and tighten its belt.
“The county needs to cut, save and be more productive,” Abrego said.
