There were the usual concerns before last week’s bi-district playoff game between the Port Isabel Tarpons and the Bearkats of Raymondville. There was Raymondville’s backfield speed of Jesse Valladares and Romeo Rosales, who combined for nearly 2,200 yards rushing and 22 touchdowns in the regular season. There was quarterback Willie Esparza, who passed for more than1,200 yards and 19 scores coming into the playoffs.
