The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team has lost two straight matches after starting the 2014 district season with a perfect 6-0 record. On Tuesday night, they dropped a five-setter at Zapata, and last Saturday La Feria also won in five sets.
With the two losses, the Lady Tarpons fall to second place in the District 16-4A (D-II) standings with a 6-2 record league play. Zapata and La Feria are tied for first place, each with 7-1 records.
Port Isabel’s third straight match of the current road stand will be played at Rio Hondo this Saturday, Oct. 11.
