The Port Isabel High Lady Tarpons track and field team took the points lead after Tuesday’s finals in the field events at the District 32-4A meet at Tarpon Stadium.

They did it with a flourish on gold medal-winning performances in four events and they led defending district meet champion La Feria, 65 points to 50.3, in the team standings.

The finals in all running events except the 3200 meters were scheduled for a 6  p.m. start Thursday evening.  No prelims are run for the relay races.

Gold medals for first place were awarded to Madison Bickerton in the high jump, Alex Martinez in the pole vault, Ava Gomez in the long jump, and Simone Harry in the triple jump.
