Last Saturday marked the third annual Port Isabel Patriotic Spirit Celebration. Although the gathering was small, size didn’t stop those in attendance from having a massive amount of fun.

The event, which was hosted at Washington Park in Port Isabel, was very family friendly and accommodated visitors of all ages. While everybody was able to enjoy the free hot dogs, drinks, and music, children additionally were given the opportunity to partake in contests and win prizes.  A parade also graced the celebration.

“We had the fire department, the police department, some of our elected officials, the Boy Scouts, members of the community (in the parade),” City Manager Jared Hockema said. “So it was a chance for them to be recognized, especially for our firefighters and policemen and the Boy Scouts to be recognized for their contributions.”
