Port Isabel High head volleyball coach Julie Breedlove is more than excited about the upcoming season and is counting the days until practice can officially begin on the first of next month. The Press found Breedlove in her office at the high school this week and she shared her thoughts about the kind of team she expects to put on the court in 2016.
“We’re bringing six of the girls back from last year’s varsity,” Breedlove said. “And we’ve got a lot of underclassmen that will be exciting to watch.”
The first practice will be held Monday, August 1. Two scrimmages are scheduled for that weekend. “We’re going to Sharyland Pioneer on Friday (Aug. 5), and to Los Fresnos on Saturday (Aug. 6).”
