The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons hoops squad take a three-game win streak into this Friday’s home contest against St. Joseph’s Academy.
The Lady Tarpons defeated IDEA Quest of Edinburg Tuesday night, 52-23, for their third straight win, including their last two games at the Tommy Wiseman Tournament in La Feria.
At IDEA Quest, Port Isabel led 27-1 at the end of a quarter of play, 35-7 at the half, and 46-13 at the start of the fourth quarter.
“That’s huge right now, with district starting next week,” first-year Head Coach Hannah Burleson said Wednesday. “We’ve started competing really well. We’re rebounding and boxing out much better, and our defense continues to improve.”
