Things do not always go according to plan and that applies to marching band halftime shows as much as anything else.
Take the halftime performance by the Port Isabel High Silver Tarpon Marching Band at the Valley View game two Fridays ago. It may have looked pretty good to those in attendance but it was not up to the usual standards as set down by the band for the past 10 years or more.
Sophomore bass drummer Nathaniel Zurita summed it up in a recent interview in the band hall.
“It was an off night. Something must have happened in our brains. It was terrible but at least we got through it,” he said.
