Marlyn Cesenes got off to a great start in the 2019 UIL high school track and field season last week.
She took the gold medal in the pole vault at the Hog Relays in Pharr with a vault of 10-feet, 6-inches in the first meet of the year for Port Isabel athletes. The boys and girls were scheduled to compete at the previous week’s Bobby Morrow Relays in San Benito, but decided to opt out due to the less than ideal weather.
“Marlyn did a great job in the pole vault and stayed focused,” Head Coach Julie Breedlove told the PRESS this week.
