Special to the PRESS
The local surfing community is once again coming together to support the Annual Special Needs Surfing Clinic, scheduled for Sunday, September 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Barry’s Beach Bar.
This event offers a meaningful opportunity for volunteers to make a significant impact in a short amount of time by helping children and adults with special needs experience the joy of surfing.
Organizers are calling on experienced surfers, medical professionals, and anyone interested in lending a hand to participate in this important community event.
Experienced surfers are especially needed to assist participants in safely catching waves and enjoying the ocean.
Medical professionals and those with experience working with special needs individuals are encouraged to volunteer their expertise to help maintain a safe and supportive environment. For those who may not fit either category but want to contribute, there are plenty of other ways to help, including assisting with event setup, supporting participants on the beach, and more.
The organizers stress that every volunteer, regardless of skill or experience, plays an important role in making the day successful and memorable for all involved.
