The city-owned Port Isabel Emergency Medical Services has been making headway in a number of ways compared to a year ago, according to officials.
It now has a new company that is in charge of billing, a new ambulance that is responding to emergency calls and a new computerized system to fill all the required information regarding patient receiving emergency care.
Charlie Wood, the EMS director, said their previous billing company, Texas Medical Data Systems, went bankrupt.
