TxDOT crews began moving equipment back into position as work is set to resume on the Queen Isabella Bridge going from Port Isabel to South Padre Island. Crews were out setting up signs early Monday morning and by days end the right lane crossing the bridge should be closed off. Work had been temporarily halted as a result of concerns about traffic control during the Texas Spring Break. According to TxDOT, it cost $75,000 to move the equipment and of that cost both Port Isabel and South Padre Island contributed towards helping. According to Port Isabel Chief of Police Gualberto Gonzalez that was money well spent.
