The lights on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway have been a point of discussion for a number of months amongst both Port Isabel and South Padre Island officials.
TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) representative Ricardo Gallaga said the task of re-lighting the bridge will be underway starting Monday, Oct. 24.
The “heads” of the light poles were recently replaced for a second time, only for workers to discover that their wind resistance was not up-to-par with the Gulf gusts.
