The South Padre Island City Council approved subcommittee recommendations, via Broaddus & Associates, for repairs, maintenance and renovations on the Convention Centre in the amount of $15 million, excluding the Island’s reimbursement of $431,600.
The recommendations were approved by a 5-2 vote, with Councilmen Barry Patel and Alex Avalos casting the nay votes.
