There is still time to participate in early voting, which concludes Oct. 31, before the Nov. 4 general election. Polling places are at the County Annex Building at 505 Highway 100 in Port Isabel during the following dates and times – Friday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31; and City Hall on South Padre Island Friday, Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The community will select candidates for two offices of the Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD). The available Board of Director seats include position 1, between write-in candidates Rick Wells and Robert Vela, and position 2, between write-in candidates Nancy Lee Martinez and John P. Thobe.
