The Port Isabel Tarpons were on their game at Progresso Tuesday evening. The Tarpons moved their season record to 16-4 by squeaking past the Progresso Pirates 3-1 in the top half of the seventh inning.
There was no scoring by either team for four innings. The Tarpons scored first in the top half of the fifth inning but the Progresso Pirates would not be denied and also scored one run to tie the game at 1-1.
The Tarpons rallied for two runs in the top of the 7th inning when freshman, No. 14 Daniel Martinez hit a double followed by another two base hits by Jonathan Martinez with runners on base.
