A number of prospective Port Isabel High varsity football players are working hard as they play a summertime version of football known as 7-on-7.
It’s a touch version of the game played without helmets or pads, and every play is a pass.
The guys played another double-header this past Tuesday night and they got the split against Brownsville St. Joseph and Los Fresnos. Port Isabel lost against the Bloodhounds and outscored the Falcons.
Last Thursday, playing at Tarpon Stadium against Harlingen Academy, Port Isabel won easily, 52-0. On Tuesday, June 7, they won a double-header, beating Los Fresnos, 25-0, and Brownsville Veterans, 19-6.
