Juan Manuel Aguilera has been selected as LMWD’s Employee of the Month.
In continuing with its new program, the Laguna Madre Water District reviewed nominations and chose Juan Manuel Aguilera as Employee of the Month for May 2023. Manuel is very dependable, punctual and a hardworking employee, according to LMWD.
Manuel has been with LMWD for almost 20 years. He started working at the Laguna Madre Water District as a Meter Reader and Tester before briefly working at the main office. He then transferred to the Water Distribution Department where he worked on water taps, waterline breaks and installing water valves. During his time there, Manuel acquired his CDL and learned to drive the big trucks, like the backhoe. Then, in 2020, he transferred to the Collection Department where he has learned more about pressure and gravity lines. He works on sewer taps, manhole rings and covers, and installing manholes and sewer backups.
When asked about this award, Manuel stated that he was “surprised and happy”. When asked what he likes about working at the District most, he stated “I enjoy working with customers. My coworkers are like family that you see every day, and our crew gets along and works well together.”
Manuel also shared that he enjoys working with the different departments, like on projects, and operating the backhoe.
