On July 25, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 200 Block of Adams St in Laguna Heights, in reference to a subject who had been shot.
Upon arrival, the Deputies located the lifeless body of a male identified as Christopher James De Leon, 27-years-old. As the Deputies secured the scene, they observed that De Leon had apparent gun shot wounds in his body.
CCSO Investigators arrived, processed the scene and a homicide investigation was launched. During the course of an extensive investigation, crucial evidence such as; witness statements, surveillance footage were obtained and helped identify the suspect, Jacobo Hernandez Hernandez. Based on the evidence, investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant on Jacobo Hernandez Hernandez for the offense of murder, a 1st Degree Felony.
