The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team will be hosting their annual “Volley by the Beach” volleyball tournament starting Thursday, Aug. 10-12. The tourney will begin with ten different teams competing in pool play in two different PIECHS gyms. Teams participating are Port Isabel, Port Isabel JV, Santa Maria, Santa Rosa, Lasara, Progreso, Brownsville Porter, IDEA Pharr, IDEA Edinburg and IDEA Frontier.
The teams will play a two out of three sets to 25 points (30 cap). A third set if necessary up to 15 points (20 cap). There will be a gold and silver bracket with seeding based on overall pool play record.
Port Isabel will be in Pool A along with Santa Maria and IDEA Pharr. Their games will be played in the main gym with a start time of 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Port Isabel JV team will play in Pool B along with Progreso and IDEA Edinburg. They will have their games played in the old gym with a 10 a.m. start time.
