El Paseo Arts Foundation presents ‘The Savannah Sipping Society’

Special to the PRESS

On Oct. 4 & 5, 2023, El Paseo Arts Foundation will present the first performing arts event in the Courtyard at 2500 Padre Blvd. Four talented ladies will take the stage in the two-act comedy, “The Savannah Sipping Society” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, who are all facing personal crises, are drawn together. Over six months, filled with laughter, hilarious misadventures and the occasional liquid refreshment, these women find the confidence to jumpstart their new lives.

The cast includes Tess Ficcaglia as Randa Covington who has just lost a partnership at her law firm and then lost her job. DeeOnda Ahadi plays Texas native Marlafaye Mosley whose husband has left her for a young dental hygienist. Lucinda Wierenga appears as Dot Haigler whose husband passed away just when they were beginning a new life together as retirees. Alexandrea Bailey rounds out the cast in her role as Jinx Jenkins, a self-proclaimed life coach and beautician who challenges the group to take some risks and get their lives moving in a positive direction.

This production will be Connie E. Muñoz’s debut as a director for El Paseo Art Foundation and she will put on the director’s hat again in November when she takes on the directing responsibilities for the musical, “A Grand Night for Singing.”
