On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report from Space Security Personnel at the Space Boca Chica facilities detailing an incident of man allegedly trespassing. The individual in question, Zhaoning Jiang, 42, was found on SpaceX grounds taking photographs without authorization.
According to a press release from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Jiang allegedly admitted to deputies that he entered and remained on the property without permission, stating he was capturing images for personal use to share with friends. In response to this alleged breach, sheriff deputies promptly arrested Jiang.
The accused was charged with Criminal Trespass under TPC 30.05, classified as a Class B Misdemeanor.
Following the arrest, Jiang was transported to the Cameron County Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center, where he awaits arraignment.
