As the holiday season approaches, Port Isabel is gearing up for its 15th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Hometown Holiday Street Parade on Saturday, December 2.
This annual event, hosted by Mayor Martin Cantu Jr. and the Port Isabel City Commissioners, allows residents and visitors alike to partake in a heartwarming tradition that brings the community together.
The festivities start with the Holiday Street Parade at 6 p.m., commencing at the Laguna Madre Youth Center and ending at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center.
With music, a spectacle of lights and community spirit mixed in, the parade promises to delight spectators of all ages. From festive floats to marching bands, the parade expresses the holiday cheer that defines this close-knit community.
The celebration continues at Beulah Lee Park, following the parade with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Mayor Cantu and the City Commissioners invite everyone, creating an inclusive and joyous atmosphere for families, neighbors, and friends.
In anticipation, the park is already transforming into a winter wonderland of holiday decorations, and the Christmas tree will be illuminated at the lighting ceremony and stay lighted throughout the season.
Santa Claus himself will make a special appearance, spreading holiday joy and cheer to children and adults alike.
