On December 6, the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards ceremony at the Holiday Inn Resort, celebrating the exemplary contributions of community members to the development and well-being of the region.
The gathering united a diverse group, including Janie Lopez, State Representative for District 37, and Ken Medders, SPI councilperson and former SPI and San Benito Mayor Pro Tem. Attendees included community leaders, devoted volunteers, and outgoing and incoming chamber officers, acknowledging their significant contributions to community development.
The ceremony spotlighted volunteers who dedicated their time to various projects aimed at improving South Padre Island for residents and visitors. Outgoing officers received acknowledgment for their commendable service, while the new officers were welcomed to guide the chamber’s future endeavors.
