Officials with the Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD) have spotlighted and thanked their hard-working employees by creating an Employee of the Month recognition award that began in January 2023.
The 12 outstanding employees honored in the 2023 were Justin Flores, Elida Garza, Oracio “OJ” Alcocer, Juan Mayorga, Juan Manuel Aguilera, Rebecca Castillo, Isaac Ochoa, Reymund Cisneros, Sergio Cisneros, Raul Troncoso, Juan Antonio Aguilera, and Lucy Villarreal.
The 2023 LMWD Employee of Year was recently recognized as Justin Flores.
Flores was nominated by his department manager, Joe Salinas. In his nomination letter, Salinas states, “Justin is always ready to work as soon as he clocks-in, has a great attitude and rarely misses work.” Salinas stated, “He is always willing to help other departments during working hours and after hours when they need help on standby.”
After the award announcement was made for Employee of the Year, he Flores said, “I am surprised and grateful. A lot of great people have been chosen as Employee of the Month, so I am grateful to be selected.” Flores went on to discuss his coworkers, stating, “I am thankful for working with my crew. They have a lot of experience, as well as the department as a whole. I have learned a lot from them by taking their advice.”
General Manager, Carlos J. Galvan, Jr. and Operations Manager, Robert Gomez, led the presentation at the managers’ meeting and then presented the award.
Gomez said, “We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your exceptional contribution to our organization. Your exemplary level of respect, dependability, and commitment to your job has not gone unnoticed.”
He went onto say, “Furthermore, we would like to extend our gratitude for your unwavering support and willingness to undertake any assigned task. Your dedication and support are invaluable to LMWD, and we can’t thank you enough for all you do. Once again, congratulations, Justin, on this well-deserved recognition. We are truly fortunate to have you as part of our team!”
