Special to the PRESS
SandCamp 2024 returns! The season will kick off on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, with the sixth semi-annual Turtle Days Sea Turtle Arribada at Neptune Circle (Beach Access #16.), starting at 10 a.m.
Buckets and shovels will be provided for all, but feel free to bring your own. We’ll show how to build a big mama sea turtle and her eggs out of sand, using some simple tools. We’ll try and cover the beach with them — maybe beat our current record of 24!
Sandcamp Rules:
1. No unaccompanied children
2. Be nice
The workshops are completely free, though tips are always appreciated, and there’s no need to register or sign up in advance – just be there at start time. Since parking is at a premium, everyone is encouraged to walk along the beach or take the free Island Metro.
Sandcamp is for ALL ages and levels of experience and is sponsored by Sandcastle Island, Inc. and sandyfeet sandcastle services. Visit sandcampspi.com or http://sandyfeet.com/ for more info or to donate to this program.
