The council then moved forward to new business to discuss potential action to award engineering services for the streets of Garcia, North Shore and Longoria based on responses received from the request for qualifications (a step utilized to gain background and experience of potential suppliers or vendors).
The discussion was led by City Manager Jared Hockema and the council approved the action to select the engineering firm of Hinojosa Engineering that will design the streets.
The council also approved action to allow Mayor Martin Cantu Jr. and Fire Marshal John Sandoval to attend the Texas Division of Emergency Management Conference at Fort Worth, Texas May 27-31, 2024.
