The South Texas Ecotourism Center [STEC] will host a Halloween Festival this October.
At STEC’s Halloween Festival, there is something for everyone, including movies, food, vendors with plenty of Halloween goodies, a costume contest, hands-on activities and more. The highlight of the event will be
the Trick or Treat Trail. The center will also be adorned with spooky décor.
The event was a hit last year, with representatives from Lower Rio Grande Valley organizations handing on candy and goodies to elated children. STEC is inviting more businesses, civic organizations, churches,
schools and more to join in on the fun and will set up ten tents with tables and chairs for the first ten to register. More are invited to register after the initial ten slots are full, but they will have to bring their own tables and chairs. Those who want to register need to call STEC Director Edward Meza at (956) 772-0210
“It should be a fun night,” said Meza.
The festival will open to the public on Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m. There is no admission charge.
