Sea Turtle Inc. announced a record-breaking achievement in its mission to protect sea turtles through conservation, medical care, applied research and education.
“Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our staff and volunteers, 2024 has marked a historic milestone, with a record-breaking 94 patients receiving rehabilitation—setting the highest treatment number in our organization’s history,” stated Wendy Knight, Chief Executive Officer at Sea Turtle Inc.
According to the non-profit, this milestone highlights the growing need for sea turtle conservation efforts and the unwavering commitment of the Sea Turtle Inc. team. Sea Turtle Inc says that “behind every patient treated is a story of hope, healing and the critical role of community support.”
“This record is a testament to the hard work and passion of our team, as well as the generosity of our donors,” stated Knight.
Sea Turtle Inc responded to the largest number of patients in history while operating in a makeshift hospital tent, as they worked to conclude construction on the largest fully enclosed sea turtle hospital in the world.
“Responding to this patient load in the heat of Texas summer in an outdoor temporary hospital was challenging, but shows the unwavering dedication of our staff to do what is needed to save these amazing animals,” stated Knight.
Sea Turtle Inc. relies on donor support to provide resources like medical equipment, food and rehabilitation facilities for injured and ill sea turtles. According to Sea Turtle Inc, as the organization looks toward the future, continued contributions will ensure that every sea turtle in need receives the care it deserves.
