On June 20-21, PIECHS student Elle Wall competed in the 2025 girls’ (15-16) Heptathlon event at the AU South Texas – Central District Qualifier held in Von Ormy, TX.
Completed over two days, the Heptathlon is a combination of seven grueling events, including the 100m Hurdles, 200M Run, 800M Run, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Javelin event.
After competing in each event, athletes were then awarded points based in their order of finish.
Wall, who is a member of the local summer track team, “Coastal Heat,” finished in first place with 3,931 points- a whopping 355 points ahead of the runner-up.
She will be advancing to the 2025 Junior Olympics Games held in Houston on July 26-August 2. On a side note, Wall competed in the 2024 Junior Olympics Heptathlon and finished in 4th place last year.

During the school year, Wall primarily trains in running and jumping events. but she also performed very well in the throwing events, where she set new personal bests in both events.
Although she views the shot put an event as a “tougher” event, she came in 3rd place in the Shot Put with a throw of 28’-0.25”, while in the Javelin event, she finished in 2nd place with a throw of 84’-7”.
